if anybody still reads this blog, I thought you would like an update

Ian is going into the hospital tomorrow. St. Mary's at the Mayo Clinic there he will have a flexible sigmoidoscopy. That means they will put him to sleep, stick something up his rear end and pull out about 4 coins/magnets or whatever it is that is in there, along with a bunch of compacted poop.

Then they are going to flush him out. and keep him all night while flushing him out.

While he is under they will bring in a neurologist who will poke and prowd a little to see what kind of neuroresponse he has in that region. Why are we wondering about neuroresponse? Because from the xrays it looks like he has sacral agenesis- or the last few of his tail bones are missing, and that could mean spinal cord could have a few issues down there too.

Cabin Fever Delusions....

If I sold my business today for $10million we would......

buy a Toyota Hybrid SUV (family size), and the best in camping gear and spend the next year flirting from national park to national park. With of course a little bit of Hawaii and Disney world in the process.

And I recognized as a cabin fever delusion because it has 3 distinctive characteristics:
1-involves spending a year out side in sunny locations
2-involve delusions of grandeur (having a biz worth selling for $10 million) and
3-the unlikely circumstances that it would happen quickly, smoothly and that I would be off the hook and free to roam.

But is was a very interesting spontaneous conversation this morning.

there are poor among us- so what are you going to do about it?

Here is a very interesting article.

Do you think that cooperate America will ever get heart?

But to be honest- that change has to happen with us, and where and how we choose to purchase items. If we choose to use the low price guaranteed then we are enforcing the cooperations that choose to use poverty level workers.

Become aware and act accordingly.

I brought dinner to Ryan, Amber and family. Made some good spaghetti, bought garlic bread and salad and cake. Amber and Ryan thanked me for satisfying them very well.

I told them I was I also very satisfied- I held Nahni the whole time they ate. And it felt very good.

What surprised me though, was how good it felt to give her back and walk away going on with my life. Kind of a surprise, but that must be how Grandmas feel. And today I am auntie- close enough for now.

only in Minnesota

Galen's teacher told me that Galen said something so cute, she has been smiling all week.

I thought you might enjoy it too.

Galen's assistant, Jan, was talking with Karen and said that her husband worked at St. Olaf's college. Galen said "OH, that's my favorite restaurant, the Olaf Garden."

Is it ok if I am a little baby hungry?

I mean, Clay is huge. There is little left the signifies him as a baby any more. And sometimes I just miss the little sweet things kicking your belly button from with in.

By the way- CONGRATULATIONS AMBER, NAHNI and RYAN (and Ethan and Avery). The new born pics made me have to admit that Clay is getting too big to fill the need in a women's life for much longer.

I am so glad that my wish for a sleepless night came true for you.

Highlights from my travel log

Well,
We are waiting for the plane home from LA. And it is 12am here, but this section of the airport is still hopping.

However, there are a few highlights to this trip to the smoggy city that has more cars then people, and more freeways then sidewalks.

The first was actually while packing. I was trying to load my little Mini (prius) with 5 huge luggages that weighted between 70-90 pounds each, and I was slipping on ice and trying to find all ways to shove so many big things into one little car.

I thought that if some body was watching me it would have been hysterical, but nobody was. So then I wondered is something still funny if no one is there to laugh?

Then the street names in downtown LA had interesting pulls on our verbal memories. The street named Figeroa, had us singing opera every time we passed it. The street named Flower had us quoting lines from Bambi and so on. Then there was a street named Hope, and of course we all know that Faith must come after hope. And desire to believe must come just before it.

And in the evening, when we would get tired, because we are still on central time, we would all get a little punch drunk and make the worst jokes. We would be eating and laughing so hard that those around us would have been sure we were drunk, but we all know the difference between those that drink and those that don't is that those that don't have any inhibitions in the first place.

And at the show- The most unorthodox thing to behold was a man wearing a fake pregnant belly. It was just kinda wrong- very wrong.- but made a great conversation piece.

Tonight was fun. We were out of the show by 6:11 (not bad, it didn't officially close until 6).
And we leisurely made our way to the airport at mock 1- (LA freeway, 6pm) Mom got confused on some of the lanes and went across 6 lines of traffic in one leap to make our exit.

We had dinner at a steak house and the sugar dish there was the cutest thing. It looked kinda like a space ship to begin with, but then I realized it was a little robot head with most adorable button nose and it started to sing "Good Night Sweetheart" and yawn so big that its nose stood straight up in the air. I asked the manager if I could buy it- but she said they didn't have any extra to sell. I will have to do a drawing of this up for you- it is just too cute.

And then we found a spa with chineze massages. And these women walked on your back and could do things I never dreamed possible with their feet. Very nice after a long week of lifting 90 pound luggages.

So far my family hasn't died without me. There is still life there- I just hope there isn't too much life lurking in all the unwashed corners :)

And Last night Mike told me that taking care of the kids and the house was "not a one man job."
But somehow they seem to expect 1 women to be able to do it.
